Second Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spoken about chances of working with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a recent interview, Gachagua praised Kalonzo as a great leader lauding the move to stand with him during the impeachment. The former DP noted that they like the stand Kalonzo has taken.
“I think people are jumping the gun, Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa are great leaders of this country and I think we can work together. ” Rigathi said.
“Myself and the people of the mountain were happy with the stand Kalonzo took during the impeachment to stand with me. Our people are normally very grateful and they remember good deeds. We have listened to what Kalonzo is saying and we like it. There are opportunities we can work together,” Rigathi added.
Rigathi admired that the recent GEMA meeting was meant to bring the Akamba on board revealing that they had not agreed on an alliance as of now but they are working with like-minded leaders.
“There was a cultural meeting between Gikuyu, Meru, Embu, and Akamba (GEMA) to try and to coin something they work together. Akamba people are our cousins it’s unfortunate that we had not been talking earlier but God’s timing is the best. We have not agreed on an alliance just like-minded leaders coming together.” The former DP went on.
