Kalonzo Musyoka declares 2027 presidential bid unstoppable

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has given yet another clearest indication that his 2027 presidential seat ambition is unstoppable.

Addressing the press Tuesday during a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, Kalonzo said he will soon begin traversing the country popularizing his bid in the run-up to the poll. He however clarified that the NEC meeting was not meant to endorse him for the top seat.

“Nothing prevents a presidential candidate from covering the length and the breadth of this country, introducing himself, consulting. The National Executive Council does not have the mandate to endorse a presidential candidate at this stage,” Kalonzo said.

“As far as Wiper is concerned, they are very clear on the way they want to go,” he added.

Kalonzo recently announced that he is ready to run for president in 2027 but insisted that he will not be seeking Raila’s endorsement.

The Wiper leader who first ran for president in 2007 on the ODM Kenya ticket is under pressure from his Ukambani backyard to take the second stab. The politicians said the former vice-president is ripe for the country’s top job, insisting that 2027 will be his.
