Azimio leader Raila Odinga has hinted at endorsing Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Ikutha during the burial of Kalonzo’s brother-in-law Willie Muasya, Raila said that Kalonzo had stood with him for some time and he had no reason not to support him.
“They are saying Kalonzo is vying, Raila is also vying but We will sit down and agree. If Kalonzo is the presidential candidate is there any harm? I’ve never said Kalonzo can’t be a candidate. “Raila said amidst cheers from mourners.
“We have come from far with Kalonzo. He has supported me and I can also support him…I want people to be patient as Azimio leaders we will sit and agree.” He added.
Raila downplayed divisions in Azimio saying each party was now focused on strengthening itself. He notes strong individual parties will result in a very strong Azimio.
Odinga’s remarks on unity were echoed by DAP Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
