After a month-long renovation, the Kangundo Hospital mortuary has reopened, boasting a complete overhaul.
The once outdated and malfunctioning equipment has been completely replaced, promising better services for the community.
Machakos County Health CECM Daniel Yumbya announced that the mortuary is now fully operational.
“Residents of Kangundo and its surrounding areas can once again rely on our services. All previous issues have been addressed, and the facility is ready to receive bodies. We appreciate the community’s patience during this essential upgrade,” Yumbya stated.
Yumbya also disclosed that a dedicated theatre for pregnant women was also coming up costing up to 20 million done by the Safaricom Foundation in partnership with the Machakos county government.
This initiative aims to reduce congestion and provide specialized care to pregnant women ensuring a higher standard of medical support in the region.
Locals in Kangundo can now breathe a sigh of relief as some had to take Bodies to Kathiani and as far as Machakos for those not able to afford private facilities.
