James Mwangi, Mercy Mawia’s husband has decried fake news on the late radio presenter’s last wishes.
Taking to Facebook, James asked those spreading such to be humane and give the family privacy during this difficult time.
“There are fabricated stories doing rounds on social media about Mercy Mawia-Kamuwetangi’s last wishes. It is very disrespectful and inhumane for people to clout chase without considering the feelings of the affected family.”Mwangi said.
“We request some privacy as we go through these hard moments. The family will keep updating her friends and fans with details regarding the funeral arrangements in the coming days through official means. We appreciate your continued support and prayers during this difficult moment. God bless you all.” The husband in the post added.
Mercy Mawia alias Kamuwetangi passed on Tuesday after a short illness and surgical procedure at a City Hospital. The news of her demise came in as a shock to her friends, family, and fans who took to social media to mourn her.
After her untimely death, speculations have been rife with some people claiming that she had requested to be cremated which is not true. In the wake of the claims, The family asked for privacy and an end to the same. A pay bill number has been established ahead of her burial end of next week in Nyahururu.
