Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has sided with Kitui Speaker Kevin Kinengo vowing to block his impeachment.
Speaking to his constituents on Saturday, Mbai threatened that if the Speaker is impeached there would be fire in Kitui.
“The speaker has been chosen by McAs who are chosen by Locals. Kinengo defeated Ndeto who is like his grandfather. We all agree Malombe should not be touched and also Kinengo now should not be touched. Those who want to touch him go ahead, in Kitui there will be fire.”Mbai warned.
The MP claimed Kinengo was being fought by old people who didn’t want to exit the County Government. He took a Swipe at former Speaker George Ndoto saying he had done enough and was his time to rest and hand the mantle to young leaders.
Taking to his Facebook Sunday, Mbai vowed to block the impeachment saying it won’t be done in Kitui county.
“We are going to cause a generational change in Kitui County leadership. For those thinking of impeaching speaker Kinengo, you will have to do the voting from another County or the space but not from Kitui.” Mbai said.
“Just watch the space. Hate the game, don’t hate the player. Mbaya Mbaya back to Original Settings.” He added.
Mbai on Saturday joined Speaker Kinengo and other leaders at the wedding of Ann and Mathew Ngovi Vuthi (MCA Chuluni) at Kanguu Primary School Grounds in Chuluni Ward, Kitui East Constituency.
