Mwingi North: Man Butchers Wife After Heated Dispute

In a shocking incident that unfolded in the quiet town of Mita Misyi, Ngomeni, Mwingi North, a 27-year-old man brutally murdered his wife following a domestic disagreement. The local authorities have confirmed the incident, with Samuel Mutemi, the area chief, providing details surrounding the tragic event.

According to Chief Mutemi, the suspect, identified as Munyoki Musembi, reportedly presented himself at the Mitamisyi police post immediately after committing the heinous crime. The area chief further confirmed that Musembi has been transferred to Kyuso police station, while the lifeless body of the victim has been taken to Kyuso funeral home.

Edwin Otieno the police commander, affirmed that an ongoing investigation is in progress. Otieno stated, “We received a report that Munyoki Musembi disagreed with his wife. The specific details of the dispute remain unclear, but preliminary inquiries indicate that the disagreement may have arisen from the wife’s desire to move out of their father’s compound.”

“According to Musembi’s statement to the police, the situation escalated when his wife allegedly threw a panga (machete) at him. In response, Musembi picked up the weapon and, in the heat of the moment, threw it back at her. Realizing the gravity of his actions, he fled the scene.”He added.

The area chief, Samuel Mutemi, expressed deep concern over the incident, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the motives and circumstances surrounding the tragic event. “This is a heartbreaking incident, and our thoughts go out to the family and friends affected by this senseless act of violence,” Chief Mutemi stated.
