The man who killed two kids and injured the wife of his neighbor in Kwamunyanzu, Mwingi Central – Kitui county on Thursday last week has been killed.
Zakayo Munyasya was cornered by irate locals who gave him a dog beating to death before setting his body on fire.
The incident took place 10 kilometers from the scene where he attacked the family.
Mwingi Central police commander Peter Mutuma confirmed the incident and said that the man went into hiding on Thursday last week after committing the crime.
The police boss noted that the locals traced him to his hiding and killed him.
The father of the murdered kids had told the press that he was shocked by the incident because he and his neighbor had no bad blood.
The two neighbors had been living peacefully and up to now the motive of the attack is still a mystery to the victims.
“He bought land and settled here and we have been living well with him. We were okay the whole day unknown to me that in his mind he was plotting on wiping out my family,” said the father.
