Authorities in Mwala sub-county are intensifying their search for a man accused of attacking his 18-year-old pregnant wife with a panga, inflicting multiple injuries in a horrifying incident that has shaken the local community.
The attack, which took place in Yoani village, saw the suspect allegedly lock his wife inside their home before fleeing the scene.
Her desperate screams brought neighbors rushing to the house, where they found her with life-threatening injuries to her neck, arms, and head.
Angeline Kilonzo, Chairperson of Mwala Community Policing, confirmed the incident stating that the woman was rushed to Masii level four hospital for first aid before being transferred to Machakos level five hospital for further treatment.
She condemned the violence, urging community members to find constructive ways to resolve disputes without engaging in violence.
“Her arms were almost falling off,she was covered in a pool of blood when the neighbours found her.she was rushed to the hospital and we hope the baby is okay too,”said Kilonzo.
