Likoni MP Mishi Mboko took on labor and social protection Cabinet Secretary nominee Dr. Alfred Mutua during his vetting over his marital status.
The MP asked the nominee to minimize the drama around his marital status from now on.
“On a light note, because now maybe you are going to be confirmed as Waziri for Labour and Social Protection, Kenyans are thinking you should minimize this drama, especially on your marital status because somehow they can jeopardize your character and put you in a negative situation.” The Likoni MP said.
National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula was forced to interject and clarify that one is not required to be married to hold a public office.
“I am saying that drama, you talked about opulence on Kipchumba Murkomen, Joho, ..” Mishi went on as Wetangula interjected again saying the committee was not going to open someone’s bedroom.
In 2021, Lilian divorced Alfred Mutua and later began dating Kenyan artist Juliani.
Dr. Alfred Mutua’s net worth has risen to Sh462 Million, up from Sh420 Million in 2022.
