Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has been arrested and taken to DCI offices in Kiambu.
The vocal lawmaker was arrested over alleged involvement in the protests held in mlolongo, Mavoko sub-county of Machakos county on Tuesday.
Sleuths raided his house at around 4 am in the morning and took him away.
Makau is accused of being behind the demos that saw the destruction of the Nairobi expressway at the Mlolongo toll.
The government and other leaders have come out to condemn the Azimio-led demos that happened in different parts of the country teeming them as destructive.
Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse urged the government and opposition to swallow their pride and hold reasonable talks for the sake of Kenyans. Mutuse said that the demos will amount to nothing other than losses of lives and properties.
Ten people lost their lives during the demos while scores sustained injuries.
Hundreds were also arrested and detained in various police stations in the country awaiting arraignment in court.
