MP Makau distances himself from Azimio planned demos

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has expressed his dissatisfaction about the planned demonstrations in Machakos county by the Azimio coalition.

Makau noted that every Kenyan is free to demonstrate but he asked the Azimio leadership to explain how the Kamba community would benefit from the demonstrations.

He noted that he will be working with President William Ruto to ensure development for his people.

“It is the right of every person to demonstrate but I would love the Lower Eastern leaders to meet with Azimio leadership so that we can get answers on how the demos will be of help to us,” Makau said.

The MP wondered whether Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga will support Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the Presidency in 2027.

“We have been supporting Raila all through, we want to know if he and his team will support Kalonzo to be president in 2027,” he went on.

The vocal MP also called on locals to give elected leaders time to do their work instead of fighting them daily.

According to him, it is still early to gauge if a leader has worked for his or her people since the election.

“Both the National and the County Governments should be given time to deliver their promises to the people. Four months is very short to gauge how someone has worked,” he said.

Makau spoke during the disbursement of 4 million shillings Uwezo fund to groups from his constituency.

In January, Makau hinted at supporting Ruto in 2027 saying he was impressed by the way he was doing things. Missed the story? check it out below;
