Drama ensued during a Machakos County public participation in Kyekoyo, Matungulu East Ward after the MCA Julius Munywoki stormed out of the function.
Governor Wavinya Ndeti while addressing the residents told off Munywoki who was elected on a UDA ticket and claimed that the MCA was not working with her and instead, he was busy fighting her. This did not go well with the MCA.
“I called your MCA for bursaries in my office, The bursaries were to benefit people but he did not come for them instead he is busy fighting me rather than working with me,” said Wavinya.
Upon hearing this, Julius stormed out of the meeting accompanied by his followers who were angered by the statement made by the Governor saying that it was unwise for a leader to confront other leaders before the electorate.
Munywoki whose anger was spilling out said that it was not bad to work with other leaders for the sake of bringing development to his ward and he was going to ensure that he would work with the area MP come what may.
“This is uncalled for, how can she(Governor)come to my home place and decide to lecture in front of my own people? I am not a child I need to be respected. Is working with Mule a taboo? he is a leader in my area and I should work with him,” said Munywoki.
“If they do not want to see me working with Mule, go and hang him but as long as he is alive I will work with him and all other leaders for the benefit of my community. We elected a woman thinking she would have the motherly love but from the look of things we made a mistake,” he added.
In Kyeleni Ward, area MCA Grace Bahati was also denied a chance to speak during a public participation forum forcing her to go and sit with voters during the meeting. The Governor also accused Grace of fighting her. Missed the story? check it out below;
