Masinga Central MCA Joshua Mwonga has fired back at Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti following her recent remarks accusing him of being among the MCAs troubling her administration.
Addressing the press, Mwonga defended his actions, stating that his concerns stem from the county government’s failure to deliver essential services to residents.
“I have every reason to question the governor’s leadership when she fails to deliver to the people of Machakos County,” said Mwonga.
The MCA took issue with the governor’s recent announcement of a Ksh 120 million countywide bursary fund, questioning why some wards, including his, only received Ksh 2 million instead of the promised Ksh 3 million.
“You were in Manangya and told the people that the only MCAs troubling you in Masinga Sub-county are me and Ng’a Wee. But when you announce Ksh 3 million per ward and disburse only Ksh 2 million, why wouldn’t I trouble you?” he posed.
Mwonga also decried the poor state of roads in his ward and vowed to continue speaking out until meaningful development is achieved.
“If asking you to fix bad roads amounts to disturbance, then be ready, I am not stopping anytime soon. If asking for drugs in our hospitals is troubling you, then I will continue to trouble you,” he declared.
He further criticized the governor for showing up late to public meetings, saying the delays cause unnecessary financial losses for locals who abandon their daily activities to attend such forums.
“As I conclude, let me be clear, I can’t be your flower girl. I subscribe to the people of Masinga who voted for me. I won’t find time to follow you around for just Ksh 10,000,” Mwonga added.
