Makueni: List of County Drama Festivals 2025 Winners

Curtains have closed on the highly competitive Makueni County Drama Festivals 2025, with schools showcasing outstanding performances across various categories.

The festivals, known for nurturing young talent in drama, poetry, dance, and spoken word, saw students put their best foot forward, with the top two in each category earning a spot in the regional competitions.

In the plays category, Makueni Girls took first position with Kilungu Boys being the runners-up and Mbooni Boys following closely as third.

In Spoken Word, Barazani Girls took the first position, Matiliku Boys second position, and Kathonzweni Boys took third.

In Cultural Creative Dance Mwaani Girls first position, Kalawa Boys second, and Vulueni third.

In the Choral Verse Kitondo Boys melodies went home with the first position with Mwaani Girls taking second and Chelezo.

In Comedy Kathonzweni Boys cracked more ribs earning the first position followed by Matiliku Boys and then Kikima.

In Narrative Mwaani Girls held, Chelezo with Kasikeu boys following closely.

In Mime Kambi Mawe took first place with Chelezo being runners up and Kathonzweni Boys.

In the Solo Dance category Makueni Boys proved they are not just academic giants but also kings of the dance floor with their sister school Makueni Girls being there to prove by taking second play and Nduluku being third.

In Solo Verse Chelezo won, Kilungu Boys second, and Mbooni third Mbooni Boys.

In the Broadcast Presentation category, Kathonzweni Boys added yet another first-place trophy with Mwaani Ilima taking the second place trophy and Makueni Girls adding another win by taking third place.

In Modern Dance, Chelezo outshined their competitors Kitondo Boys who took second position and Makueni Boys Going home with third position.

As for the French Category Proceeding to Regionals are Makueni Girls after being ranked the best in plays, Ukia Girls in Choral Girls, and Mwaani Boys in Solo. All first and second-place winners in each category have earned a spot in the upcoming regional competitions, where they will represent Makueni County against other top performers.

The festival, which celebrated creativity, storytelling, and cultural expression, was a testament to the immense talent within the county’s schools. As the journey continues to the regional level, all eyes will be on these winners as they prepare to showcase their skills on an even bigger stage.
