Machakos Women Representative Joyce Kamene Kasimbi has expressed concerns over the increase of incest and defilement cases in Machakos County.

Speaking at Matungulu West Ward, Kamene said it was saddening to hear the cases of defilement and incest in Machakos County despite efforts by various organizations to curb them.

She called upon leaders and other organizations to come up with a solution to end the menace that was now becoming rampant in society.

“I have been shocked by the increase of defilement and incest cases in our county especially Matungulu sub-county, I want to urge parents especially women when they witness such an incident to come up and report it to the police, “Kamene said.

“We need to come up with a solution to this issue so that we can save the lives of our children and secure the future of our families. Women let us report these cases even if it is the father who has defiled your child, come out and report,” she urged.

The Women rep met several women groups across Matungulu west ward to give them funds from the National Government Affirmative Fund (NGAAF) to start table banking that was meant to uplift their lives.

“I have met Matungulu West ward women groups and given them money to start table banking and through this, the women will be able to change their lives through the money they acquire from the table banking,” she said.
