Machakos: Deputy Speaker refutes row between Wavinya and MCAs

Machakos Deputy Speaker and Ekalakala/Ikaatini ward MCA Stephen Mwanthi Nzue has refuted claims that there is an ongoing fight between Governor Wavinya Ndeti and the MCAs.

Speaking in Machakos after the end of the public participation forums Mwanthi said that during the forums some of the leaders differed with the Governor.

He insisted that however, this was not enough reason to presume that the executive and the assembly were fighting.

“The reason why the Governor didn’t allow MCAs to speak during the forums was due to lack of time. In a single day, she was going to four places and if everyone spoke then more time would have been wasted,” Mwanthi said.

The politician added that any leader who felt left out should wait for the Assembly public participation that will be held soon and give out their concerns.

“When 95 percent of the MCAs are speaking in one voice while the remaining are protesting you can’t assume there’s division, there’s no way people can agree 100 percent in politics,” he noted.

“The last forum was held in Wamunyu where 50 MCAs attended and the remaining nine had things to attend to, that is a good show that we are ready to work together with our governor, “The Deputy Speaker added.
