Machakos County Government will be disbursing bursaries across the county from this week.
The exercise is set to start on Monday through the MCAs offices.
Speaking during the pilgrimage prayers at Koma Rock Shrine, Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi said the county had allocated 80 million for bursaries.
“Starting this week, MCAs are here we shall start disbursing bursaries. So let us be aware that Wavinya’s Government has set aside 80 Million for all the 40 wards,” said Mwangangi.
He went on and asked the National Government to stop concentrating on development projects and first handle the drought issue that faces the country.
“As Machakos county, we started giving put food to ECD children in the county and honestly it is expensive. I want to ask the National Government to pause on development projects and sort this issue of drought and famine,” said the Deputy Governor.
The prayers were attended by several leaders including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu, Machakos Women Rep Joyce Kasimbi, and several MCAs.
