Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Paul Wainaina Tuesday morning paid a visit to survivors of the tragic accident that caused the demise of 11 Students.
The VC together with other officials visited the survivors at Moi County Referral Hospital ward in Voi where the 42 students were admitted. He comforted the survivors and wished them a quick recovery.
The accident occurred on Monday at Maungu, Voi, in Taita Taveta county, along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway as the students were traveling for an academic trip in Mombasa.
The tragic road accident was confirmed by Voi Sub-county Police Commander Ibrahim Daffala
” 10 students have died on the spot while another one breathed his last in hospital.” Confirmed Daffalla.
The police commander stated the accident occurred at a time when it was raining heavily. The lorry tried to move away from the road to avoid a head-on collision causing the accident to occur.”He added.
