Various leaders and supporters of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in Kitui met for a deliberation meeting to discuss the development blueprint they would like DP Ruto to prioritize if he becomes president.
Led by Kitui Economic blueprint Chairman and former Kitui Rural MP Charles Nyamai they discussed the South Eastern Economic Blueprint they earlier held with the stakeholders of South-Eastern together with DP Ruto in Amboseli last year August.
The meeting had drawn 150 grassroots leaders drawn from the 40 wards of Kitui county to validate the blueprint through public participation and contribute to the draft.
“The objective is to develop a county economic blueprint that will be adopted and consolidated as part of South Eastern Region which comprises of Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni, to form its manifesto in a bid to reclaim Kenya under the leadership of our UDA Presidential candidate William Ruto,” Nyamai said.
The main sectors discussed at the meeting were water, health, infrastructure, education, agriculture, trade, mining, tourism, energy, culture, MSMEs, youth, and Mwingi becoming a county.
According to a press statement handed to Mauvoo News, the process of engaging the people through public participation was done to deliberate about the shift from the current trickle-down economic model to UDA’s bottom-up economic model which aims to facilitate decentralization of resources to those at the grassroots level.

Mueke said that the issues that have been deliberated at the meeting have been affecting the people of Kitui and will ensure they are addressed after they sign an agreement with DP Ruto before he ascends into the presidency.
