Kasolo breaksdown while giving tribute at Mercy Mawia’s memorial service

Kamba Gospel artist Stephen Kasolo broke down while mourning his friend Mercy Mawia at her memorial service at AIC Milimani in Nairobi.

Kasolo praised Mercy as a loving and supportive person who also supported the gospel through the work that she did as a Radio presenter.

“As artists we are mourning, some of us can’t even take food. As one of the artists, Mercy was supervising me in Athiani while I was doing my attachment. She will never be forgotten in our hearts. As artists we have lost our colleagues, leaders have also lost one of them.” Kasolo said.

The gospel artist also praised mercy as caring and promised to carry on with the gospel. He recalled how they used to call each other “Kilalas” and how she even asked him to take videos at Fortune Mwikali’s wedding.

Kasolo also disclosed that Mercy had promised to attend his album launch in Mlolongo next week.

“I can recall last week seeing a clip where Mercy asked me and Katombi to sit and reconcile as we are all from Kitui. This means mercy was caring about the Kitui people. Mercy go well, Mercy we will see you again, say hi to Jesus and tell him we will support the gospel. ” The singer went on.

“Mercy I will miss you, she used to call me ‘Kilalais’ and on her last posts, she asked me to take videos at Fortune’s wedding and send me to post. Next week I will be having an event at Mlolongo she had promised to come, and Mercy was so loving, parents of Mercy Poleni, I didn’t sleep yesterday just feeling bad.. oh mercy may God take care of you..When I looked at her I used to see my sister, Jesus take care of Mercy and give her soft judgment. We grieve but God knows why, we will one day meet her.” Kasolo concluded as he broke into tears.

Other Gospel artists who attended the memorial service include John Kay, John Mbaka, Meshack Mwengei, Justina Syokau, and Danny P among others.
