Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka Musyoka has moved swiftly to curb cropping animosity between Wiper leaders in Machakos County.
Speaking at Miumbuni, Kalonzo acknowledged a growing political heat between Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti and Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau.
Their fight seems to have birthed two factions of Wiper leaders in the county.
Kalonzo urged Makau to hold his horses on his attacks on Wavinya Ndeti so that the public doesn’t think that there is political tension in the Wiper party.
He noted that it is okay for Makau to castigate the leadership and services of Wavinya as long as it does not seem political.
“Makau can be tough but he is a good person and in the last election he showed great support by choosing to step back in his bid. All I can ask of you is that you avoid unnecessary fights lest people think there is a political heat looming,” Kalonzo said.
He urged them to work together for the betterment of Mwananchi.
“It’s okay to criticize because the people need to be served well and support the county leadership to achieve this,” he noted.
Makau in his speech had asked the County Government to up its game and deliver to the people what they promised during the campaign period.
“Mr.Y umbya I am telling you for free that if your government is not doing well these people will criticize you after you leave because the hospitals don’t have drugs,”said Makau.
The Mavoko MP also vowed not to step down for anyone as he did in the 2022 polls.
While speaking at the same event, Agnes Kavindu the Senator urged Makau to shelve his gubernatorial bid and support Wavinya instead.
She said Makau should eye for bigger seats since Kalonzo will clinch the presidency in 2027.
Her comment seemed to anger Makau who pointed at her and indicated that she was going overboard with her speech.
