Kaiti: Over 4,000 needy students receive bursaries

Kaiti National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) has disbursed over Ksh. 30 million bursaries to more than 4,000 needy students enrolled in Colleges and Universities.

Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu while addressing the press at the Constituency office in Mukuyuni Market disclosed that measures had been put in place to ensure transparent and effective distribution of the funds.

“The students who have benefited applied for the bursary in December 2023. But we will ensure the cheques are delivered in person to avoid cases where individuals changed the original details in the document,” stated Kimilu during the launch of the disbursement.

Kimilu announced a manual application process for future bursaries, emphasizing face-to-face interaction with students during the application process. He stressed the importance of personal engagement to better understand students’ challenges and provide mentorship.

Kimilu further urged parents to refrain from applying for bursaries on behalf of university and college students, citing issues with incorrect institution details leading to bounced cheques. He however encouraged parents to apply for secondary school students.
