Ngilu is the reason why Kalonzo wasn’t chosen as Raila’s Deputy – Kaiti MP

Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu has accused Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu of blocking Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka from being named Raila Odinga’s running mate.

While addressing journalists on Tuesday Kimilu said that Raila didn’t have a valid justification not to appoint Kalonzo as his Deputy.

The lawmaker observed that some of the Kamba leaders from Ukambani were pushing for Kalonzo not to be appointed. According to him Raila won’t bag the Kamba votes without going through Kalonzo.

“We all saw how Ngilu exhibited her impertinent behaviour by blocking Kalonzo from being Raila’s deputy. Raila, you should however know that without Kalonzo there is no single vote you will get from Ukambani,”Kimilu said.

The legislator hailed Kalonzo’s move to vie for presidency and urged the Kamba community to rally behind him.

“Our work is to ensure Kalonzo becomes president no matter what and the Kamba community should be united more than ever so as we are not disrespected,” he noted.

On Monday Raila announced former Gichugu MP Martha Karua as his Deputy. This is after an extensive interview attended by the shortlisted candidates last week among them Kalonzo Musyoka and Charity Ngilu. The Wiper party had however said that Kalonzo will not be attending the interview by the eminent persons.

Earlier Kitui senator Enoch Kiio expressed dissatisfaction after Ngilu’a name was included in the shortlisted candidates. Missed the story? check it out below;
