Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has rubbished threats by leaders of small parties within Azimio la Umoja coalition that they will ditch the coalition. Makau asked the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to ignore such threats and work with focused leaders like Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“I want to ask Raila, don’t fall for threats from people like Alfred Mutua and Prof. Kivutha Kibwana and other small parties. Some of them could not deliver as Machakos Governor. Raila, if Mutua vied for an MCA seat in Mlolongo he can’t get it. Let him stop threatening you. Work with Kalonzo Musyoka, President Uhuru Kenyatta, and other important leaders to take this country to the next level.” Makau said.

Makau further noted that the leaders threatening to leave Azimio have no political impact on the party and have very few supporters compared to Kalonzo Musyoka.

Last week, leaders of some small parties in Azimio threatened to ditch the coalition in 48 hours if their grievances were not addressed. The leaders decried being left out in decision making and also in important party organs.

The MP also called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers for the forthcoming party nominations and ensure they maintain peace during the exercise.

“We will have nominations for the wiper party Governor candidate on April 19, 2022. I want to ask all of you to come out in large numbers and maintain peace during the nominations exercise,” Makau went on.
