12 Aspirants from Kangundo Constituency have been cleared to vie for the MP position in the constituency by the IEBC.
The exercise which started on Sunday has taken three days and all the aspirants have been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to vie for the seat.
ODM Candidate for the Seat Athanas Ndolo Mutinda called on fellow leaders to ensure that they maintain peace during the campaign period. Atanas went ahead to ask Kangundo people to vote for him to bring change to Kangundo.
“As leaders let us ensure that we hold peaceful rallies as well as ensure there is peace amongst us. For Kangundo I am the change that you need for us to grow and prosper as a constituency,” he said.
The incumbent Fabian Kyule Muli who is vying on his Grand Dream Development Party (GDDP) ticket asked the leaders to accept defeat during the elections without bringing any chaos.
“When you are defeated in this election instead of bringing about chaos ensure that you maintain peace so we can have a peaceful election before and after,” Muli said.
Former Machakos Health CECM Dr. Ancent Kituku called on people to elect elite leaders to lift the standard of education in Kangundo promising to share CDF equally to all locations in the sub-county.
Nathaniel Senga a farmer and a businessman called on the people of Kangundo to maintain peace during and after the election after being issued with nomination certificate from the IEBC.
Former Kangundo MP who is vying on a Wiper Ticket Kyengo Katatha was also cleared. Others who were given the green light to vie include Michael Muya of KANU, Fridah Wayua, Abdenego Muli, Vincent Mutuku of PDP, Stephen Wambua of ELP, and Francis Matheka of UDA.
