Governor Mutua’s Administration Given A 7-Day Ultimatum To Clean Markets In The County

Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua and his administration have been given a 7 -day ultimatum to ensure all the solid waste in Machakos County markets is cleared and the markets cleaned.

Speaking during the burial of Janet Nthoki, daughter to UDA Chairman Johnson Muthama, Machakos Senatorial Aspirant Urbanus Muthama Ngengele as said that it was sad to see garbage lying openly in the markets posing a risk to the lives of Machakos residents.

Ngengele said that if the Governor failed to act before the 7-days he was going to stage peaceful demonstrations to the Machakos White House to ensure that the markets are kept clean.

“I have given Governor Mutua 7-days to remove waste in Tala Market and all markets in the county failure to which we shall hold demos to your office to ensure that is done and the lives of Machakos people are not put at risk,”Ngengele said.

Garbage bins that were put by the County Government in most markets in the county have become full of waste to an extent they are producing a foul smell which is being a health hazard to most of the vendors and residents in towns.

The solid waste Department has been on the spot for failing to empty full Garbage bins in almost all markets in the county for more than a month leading to complains especially from people with businesses around where the bins are placed.
