Devils! Justus Myello decries Hypocrisy in Kamba Gospel Industry

Renowned gospel artist Justus Myello has stirred conversation in the gospel music scene after boldly claiming that many celebrated gospel singers are “harboring hate” behind their public image of righteousness.

In a candid interview, Myello criticized the lack of unity and support among gospel musicians, particularly in the Ukambani region. He alleged that some of the most respected artists often avoid promoting each other’s work and harbor silent rivalries.

“Many artists are devils. They pretend they love, but they are full of hatred. I am one of them; may God help us. What hurts most is that fellow singers won’t even like, subscribe to, or comment on your songs on YouTube. They don’t want to see you grow, prosper, or rise to fend for your family,” Myello said.

Myello argued that if gospel artists genuinely followed the teachings of Jesus, particularly the commandment to love one another, the industry would be more united and impactful.

He noted that the toxic environment in the gospel music scene has discouraged some artists from remaining in the church space. As an example, he pointed to singer Willy Paul, who transitioned to the secular industry after facing frustrations from within the gospel fraternity.

“The lack of unity and love among gospel musicians not only tarnishes the image of the church but also denies fans the full transformative power of gospel music,” Myello added.

He urged fellow artists, starting with himself, to embrace genuine love, brotherhood, and collaboration, warning that continued rivalry and backstabbing would only weaken the industry.
