CS Mutua: Makueni People are Political fools

Labor and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has launched a scathing critique of Makueni County’s political choices terming residents as “political fools”.

Mutua accused Makueni residents of blindly supporting the Wiper Party for decades, which he claims has stalled the County’s development.

Speaking during overseas job interviews in Wote, Dr. Mutua commended the county for its academic achievements but expressed disappointment with its political landscape.

“Makueni, you are considered the brightest in the Kamba nation. Your children dominate university admissions more than those from other Ukambani Counties. But politically, you are the worst, you make the wrong decisions. Politically you are fools. This is why the county remains poor,” said Dr. Mutua.

“You need to be street smart, political smart to make money. Combine that academic smartness you have with political smartness. We are always here saying Wiper, wiper, wiper. Other communities are abroad as we continue singing Wiper Wiper, are you in Wiper or Chap Chap? “The CS Posed.

Mutua argued that despite the county’s wealth of intellectual capital, its political decisions lack foresight and have done little to improve the lives of its people.

He urged the residents to see past party politics and start voting for visionary leaders claiming that their loyalty to the single party has hindered efforts to diversify political representation and attract transformative leadership.

Mutua, who served as Machakos Governor for two terms, has long been critical of the Wiper Party and its influence in Ukambani, advocating instead for progressive leadership and issue-based politics.

He used the platform to urge Makueni’s youth to rethink their political strategies, emphasizing the need for leaders who prioritize development and economic empowerment over political rhetoric.
