Makueni County’s Term 2 Secondary School Games concluded in style at Kalulini Boys High School from June 17th to 21st, 2025, with schools from across the county battling fiercely for top honors and a coveted spot at the upcoming Regional Games.
The championship was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and passion, culminating in a thrilling showcase of sportsmanship. Victorious teams in various disciplines secured their ticket to represent Makueni at the Eastern Region Games, set to take place at Kangaru School.
In boys’ soccer, Matiliku Boys asserted their dominance on the pitch, delivering commanding performances throughout the tournament. In the girls’ soccer category, Malaa Girls secured victory with tactical brilliance and disciplined play.
Mbooni Boys showcased resilience and sharp technique to emerge champions in boys’ volleyball, while Nduluni Girls thrilled fans with fierce gameplay and exceptional coordination to take the girls’ volleyball title.
It was a double triumph for Matiliku Boys, who also clinched the boys’ basketball title with yet another strong showing. In the girls’ basketball finals, Kikima Girls dazzled on the court, earning a well-deserved victory.
In netball, St. Joseph’s Kibwezi clinched the title after a series of intense and entertaining matches.
In rugby sevens, the Kitondo School displayed raw power and agility to storm to the boys’ championship, while Mwaani Girls impressed with their speed, strategy, and teamwork to secure the girls’ title.
As Makueni’s champions prepare for the regionals at Kangaru School, the county remains optimistic that its top-performing teams will shine on the bigger stage.
