Kathiani Boys Unveils 5-Year Strategic Plan to Restore Past Glory

Kathiani Boys High School has officially launched a five-year strategic plan aimed at restoring the institution’s lost glory and repositioning it as a leading academic giant in the region.

Speaking during the launch ceremony, Chief Principal Joseph Katutu said the comprehensive plan will focus on key pillars, including academic performance, infrastructure development, student discipline, talent nurturing, and stakeholder engagement.

“We have come from far, and we believe we are heading to a better place,” said Katutu. “Through this strategic plan, we envision a transformed Kathiani Boys five years from now — one that upholds excellence and produces all-rounded students.”

The principal also highlighted the school’s innovative self-sustainability initiatives, revealing that proceeds from a pig-rearing project have enabled the school to award bursaries to 28 needy students.

“Today, we are proud to support 28 students with bursaries funded through our pig-rearing programme. This initiative has not only helped us economically but has also allowed us to give back to the school community,” Katutu added.

Kathiani MP Robert Mbui, who presided over the launch, commended the school for its steady improvement and urged parents to play an active role in supporting the institution’s development goals.

“I’ve seen great progress here, and with unity among stakeholders, Kathiani Boys can once again become a centre of academic excellence,” Mbui said.

The five-year roadmap is expected to position Kathiani Boys as a competitive academic institution, with targeted improvements in KCSE performance, modernized infrastructure, and stronger student mentorship programs.
