Kalonzo speaks on alleged financing of CORD’s 2012 campaigns by Adani

Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has spoken on claims by Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo that Adani financed CORD’s 2012 campaigns.

Kalonzo also revealed that he called the Makueni Senator to apologize to Raila Odinga after making remarks that he was linked to Adani Holdings.

During an interview at Citizen TV, Kalonzo said that Raila Odinga was still Azimio’s Party Leader and he was to be accorded all the respect he deserved.

“I can tell you I wouldn’t know if Adani was part of the presidential campaign because when you have a presidential candidate, they organize their fundraising, and you, as the Vice President, can’t know. That’s why I called Dan Maanzo and told him to apologize to Baba because he is still his party leader as of now,” said Kalonzo.

“That’s a matter I do not want to talk about because I do not know, I have no idea who Adani is and have never met them,” he added.

There have been speculations that Adani Holdings might have funded Raila Odinga during his 2012 presidential campaign. Kalonzo deputized Raila then.
