Ken wa Maria hits out at former Yatta orchestra signees

Iconic musician Kennedy Ngunze, popularly known as Ken wa Maria, has dropped a bombshell on the artists he once mentored, accusing them of betrayal and even suggesting that some have faced divine retribution.

Without directly naming the culprits, Ken wa Maria made it clear that some of Kenya’s most popular musicians turned against him after achieving little fame.

During the grand opening of his bouncer’s new home, Ken wa Maria took the opportunity to address the situation.

“I’ve been in this music industry for over 23 years. Even the song that’s been trending for seven months, Mutua Katukus, is mine. If I was doing anything wrong, God would have taken this talent from me already,” he declared.

Ken wa Maria hinted that many of the artists who started their careers under his wing are now struggling, claiming that their misfortunes were self-inflicted.

“Instead of focusing on improving their lives, they decided to fight me. You all know who they are, even if I don’t mention their names. Some have lost their voices, they sound like tractors now. Some lost their teeth, and some lost their blessing of family. They are over 50 and still searching for a wife. That’s what happens when you are cursed and don’t even realize it,” he said, laughing at the irony.

Despite the betrayal, Ken wa Maria maintains he’s been blessed with both success and a happy family because he has never wished ill on anyone.

His mission, he emphasized, was always to help his protégés escape poverty, but not everyone shared the same vision.
