Ten people have died while seven others have sustained injuries after a grisly road accident in Mbooni Makueni County.
The accident involving a 14-seater matatu happened in the Kwa Mbisu area along the Kikima-Kali road in Mbooni West sub-county.
The accident was confirmed by Stanslaus Apwoka the area Deputy County Commissioner.
Apwoka said that the vehicle belonging to Makos Sacco was heading to Machakos from Kikima at the time of the accident.
On reaching the scene the vehicle lost control and rolled several times before landing in a gully.
He said those who sustained injuries were rushed to Mbooni sub-county hospital for treatment.
Mbooni Member of Parliament Erastus Kivasu has consoled with the families of those who have lost their lives.
“I wish to commiserate with the families who lost their loved ones in the accident and also wish a quick recovery to those injured,” Kivasu said.
