A Boda Boda rider died on the spot while another is nursing injuries at Kangundo level 4 Hospital after being involved in head-on collision at Kasinga area in Tala ward.
Confirming the incident Tala location Chief Francis Mulinge said that the two are boda boda riders and one was speeding causing the impact that caused one of the riders to die on the spot.
“At around 9am in the morning I received a call from locals that an accident had occurred at Kasinga area along Tala -Kinyui road. We rushed to the scene with police officers from Tala police post and found two boda boda riders had been involved in a head-on collision. One of the riders passed away but the other was rushed to Kangundo Level 4 hospital for treatment,” said Mulinge.
” Upon enquiry, we found out that the one nursing injuries was speeding when he met with the other rider this causing the impact of the accident,” he added.
Mulinge went on ahead to caution boda boda riders against disobeying traffic laws noting that many riders are not following them which may end up claiming lives.
“I want to caution boda boda riders to follow traffic rules. Majority of them are speeding and using the wrong lanes which ends up causing deaths on our roads. Let follow the set guidelines for our own safety and that of our passengers,” Mulinge went on.
The Body of the deceased was taken to Kangundo level 4 mortuary.
