Nicholas Nzioka, the County Executive Committee Member for Lands and Urban Planning, has announced the formation of a Project Management Committee (PMC) to oversee a comprehensive cadastral survey of Mtito-Andei town and its associated public utilities.
The unveiling took place on Thursday. Signaling a step in delineating the boundary of Mtito-Andei town and mapping out all essential public utilities within its vicinity. The aim is to streamline land ownership and facilitate the titling process for identified public utilities.
The newly commissioned PMC will spearhead the survey effort, ensuring accuracy throughout the process. The committee members and the survey consultant endeavor to provide an overview of land parcels and public amenities within Mtito-Andei town.
Nzioka, as the head of the county’s Lands and Urban Planning department, is engaged in facilitating public participation forums gathering land-related initiatives. A recent Public Participation forum held at Nthunguni, Mtito-Andei, focused on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of Ngai Ndethya Settlement.
“This Assessment will assess the potential impacts of excising 21,000 hectares of Ngai Ndethya Game Reserve for allocation to more than 9,000 residents. The exercise will also pave the way for issuance of title deeds to the squatters,” stated Nzioka.
