Penina Malonza sacks Kalonzo’s son Kevin from TRA

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kevin Muasya has been sacked from Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) by Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage CS Penina Malonza.

According to a Gazette notice seen by Mauvoo News, Pauline Njoroge, Najma Ismail, Alais Lenana, and Isaac Muchiri’s appointments were also revoked by Penina Malonza.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(I)(g) of the Tourism Act, as read together with section 51(I)of the interpretations and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage revokes the appointment of Kevin Muasya, Najma Ismail, Alais Lenana Momoi, Isaac Muchiri Njangu, Pauline Njoroge as members of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Regulatory Authority,” read the notice.

The five had been appointed by former Tourism minister Najib Balala in 2020 and their three-year term would have ended in August this year.

In 2020 just a week after their appointment, the law society of Kenya filed a petition in court terming the appointments unlawful and unconstitutional. The labor court suspended the appointment of the lot until the case filed by LSK is heard.
