Mwangangi apologizes over sorry state of Matuu hospital

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has said that he is aware of the issue at Matuu level 4 hospital in Yatta sub-county.

Speaking during an interview at a local Radio station, Mwangangi noted that the issue of lack of functional wheelchairs was brought to his attention and efforts to solve the issue are on course.

Mwangangi expressed his sorrow over the situation at Matuu Hospital and asked the locals to bear with the government.

He disclosed that he is yet to engage Governor Wavinya Ndeti and urged locals to always speak out when they are not getting the services they were promised.

The outspoken politician said that the county government aims to boost the health services in the county so that locals can be well attended to even in the local dispensaries.

“We want to make sure the services you get at a local dispensary are the same you will get at the level 5 facility and in this case, I am apologizing to the residents whom we have not been serving as promised,” said Mwangangi.

“I would also like to urge the locals not to be mum when they feel things are not done right, let them shout until it reaches the Governor, her deputy, and every leader because we were all elected to serve you,” he added.

The DG observed that the county governments are yet to function fully due to delayed disbursements of funds from the national government.
