Mwala MP pokes holes in Wavinya’s milk project

Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau alias Kawaya has poked holes in the milk project for ECDE launched by Governor Wavinya Ndeti.

The lawmaker said there are projects that need first priority before venturing on others. He also questioned why local dairy farmers were not involved in the project.

“The milk program is not bad but there are issues that need urgent intervention like classes and employment of ECDE teachers. You have overlooked all this for a carton of milk which the parents are asked to contribute fare for teachers going to get the milk,” said Kawaya.

“It costs them sh.400 to go pick the carton of milk which may cost almost the same price meaning our priorities are misplaced if we had enough teachers and classes then the milk project all would be well,” he added.

Kawaya said that he will not relent on speaking up when Machakos governor Wavinya Ndeti fails in her leadership noting that voicing his concerns about the county leadership does not mean that he seeks to unseat the governor but ensure the residents of Machakos get quality services.

He noted that the governor should accept positive criticism and see where re rain started beating her.

“Most of the time we speak on behalf of the residents and that has two outcomes. One is that the governor will fight back with all manner of foul words or she will go and see if my concerns are genuine then proceed to act accordingly for the betterment of the county,” said Kawaya.

The governor has been at loggerheads with a section of lawmakers from the region facing criticism about her choice of decisions while handling certain issues.

Among the issues the lawmakers complained about include how Kalama MCA was mishandled by county inspectorate officers, state of public hospitals in the county among other issues.
