Due to the rising cases of insecurity in Matuu, Yatta sub-county of Machakos county, the leaders are demanding an overhaul of the sub-county security team.
Led by Julius Mbili Ndawa, Matuu Member of County Assembly they noted that if the team is not transferred then they will be forced to hold demonstrations.
Ndawa who was speaking in the Kalingile area noted that the area Deputy County Commissioner Lilian Njagi and her team have failed to ensure security for the residents.
Due to this cases of robbery have been on the rise with business people counting losses and locals being killed.
“Police in Matuu are not doing their job with diligence and I am calling upon Inspector General Japheth Koome to overhaul the entire security team starting from the DCC to the common office because the system is rotten,” said Ndawa.
He was speaking during the burial of one Paul Wambua who was found killed and his body dumped by the roadside.
The county lawmaker blamed the police for failing to investigate the cause of death of the deceased as not even an autopsy was conducted.
“We will not lose any life again, a new team of officers should be deployed who can do a better job in security within fourteen days if not we will take to the roads,” he reiterated.
