A middle-aged man from Itetani village, Matungulu sub-county – Machakos county is nursing injuries after he was attacked by a buffalo at his home.
The incident was confirmed by area MCA Mathias Mambo who visited the man identified as Kitela accompanied by wardens from the Kenya wildlife services.
His crops at the farm were also destroyed by the buffaloes.
MCA Mambo decried increased human-wildlife conflicts in the area and called upon KWS to take action.
“The KWS officers were present to witness the destruction and injuries caused by the buffaloes in the area. They promised to take care of the issue and cater for the medical bills of the affected,” MCA Mambo said.
The lawmaker called upon the locals to take care of themselves to avoid attacks from the beasts.
“Take care of yourself for your safety from these wild animals,” he added.
For months the locals have been complaining about the invasion of wild animals from Oldonyo sabuk national park.
