Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has disclosed the county government will be commissioning a Mother and Child Hospital and a Level 6 Hospital.
Speaking during the commissioning of Kithangaini Level 2 Hospital in Mwala sub-county, Wavinya said that as a county government, they had prioritized health and she aimed to decongest Machakos Level 5 as well as ensure that every ward gets a Level 4 facility.
“We have built our own level 6 hospital in Machakos County and in the next two years I will commission the Mother and Child First the horizontal infrastructure will be there,” said Wavinya.
“Soon by the grace of God, we will not be going to Kenyatta National Hospital because we will be having our own and also I will be having level 4 hospitals in every ward. We will not have to congest our level 5 and 6 we will be dealing with serious cases there, ” she added.
Wavinya went ahead to say that with the conversion of level 3 to level 4 she will be able to ensure that drugs will be available at the grassroots asking for cooperation both from the people and the county government.
“In the next 12 months I will be able to convert level 3 Hospitals to level 4 and ensure that there is an adequate supply of drugs at the grassroots level,” she promised.
