Justus Kasivu, who has been serving as the acting County Executive Committee Member (CeCM) for Health in Machakos County, has officially taken the oath of office.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Machakos White House and was presided over by Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
Kasivu succeeds Daniel Yumbya, who resigned from the position in August under undisclosed circumstances.
Speaking during the event, Governor Wavinya Ndeti expressed her confidence in Kasivu’s ability to perform in his new role, emphasizing the importance of diligence and commitment.
“The minister has come at a time when I am spearheading critical reforms in healthcare. He must deliver and ensure the promotion of quality healthcare across the county,” she stated.
The governor also highlighted her administration’s ongoing efforts to uplift the healthcare sector, including promotions for health workers, equipping hospitals, and constructing additional health facilities.
Wavinya took a firm stance against corruption, warning that her administration would not tolerate any malpractice. She assured the public that strict measures would be taken against officials found engaging in corrupt practices.
“My government will not abet corruption. Administrative and other necessary actions will be taken against anyone involved,” she declared, urging residents to join hands in eradicating corruption by refusing to engage in such acts.
