Machakos: MP arraigned In Court Over Murder

Gatundu South MP Gathuka Kagombe was arraigned Monday at Machakos High Court to face murder charges contrary to sections 203 and 204 of the penal code.

The legislator with his lawyers appeared before High Court Judge  Fidelis Olel and did not take a plea.

He was accused that on 17th May 2024 at around 4.30 pm at Kimuchu Area in Makongeni of Thika West Subcounty, caused the murder of David Nduati Wataha who was a Bodaboda rider.

Judge Olel ordered that the Gatundu South MP go for a mental assessment on Wednesday 5th June at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital before the case continues.

The MP was further ordered to re-apply for his bond terms once he was formally charged before the  Machakos High Court as his previous bail/bonds in Kiambu High Court had been canceled.

The accused will remain in custody at Muthaiga Police Station while awaiting plea taking on Friday 7th June 2024.
