Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has expressed deep alarm over the rise of mysterious deaths and abductions.
Addressing the press at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Machakos, Mwangangi highlighted the distressing trend of citizens being kidnapped and murdered, with their bodies left abandoned.
“This is a difficult time for our country due to the deaths, murders, and abductions we are witnessing,” Mwangangi stated, calling for urgent government intervention.
“Surprisingly we are looking for foreign investors to come and invest in our country when their security is not guaranteed. We have witnessed senior managers being murdered and people being abducted and murdered elsewhere. We can not prosper as a country,” Mwangangi added.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the responsibilities of a democratic nation, insisting that such incidents are unacceptable in Kenya as he appealed to all relevant authorities to take decisive action to ensure the safety of Kenyans. He urged the national government to prioritize the safety of its citizens over political squabbles, particularly those surrounding impeachment discussions, which he termed, “useless.”
“Kenya, being a democratic country, should not be facing these mysterious deaths. We urge our national government to protect the citizens of this country, All relevant Authorities should be up to secure their citizens, that is more important than the useless impeachment we are seeing around,” he added.
The Deputy Governor also encouraged citizens to uphold the constitution, warning against the nation devolving into a banana republic.
