Police in Machakos County are currently investigating a shocking incident involving the discovery of a woman’s body in a thicket near Kyumbi.
This tragic event raised significant concerns for the community, as local residents made the grim discovery and promptly notified the authorities. Athi River South OCPD Philis Muthoni emphasized the critical nature of the case, stating, “This is a disturbing case of violence, and we are treating it as murder.”
The body showed clear signs of severe violence, including a missing hand and stab wounds to the eyes. Upon arrival, police collected the remains and transported them to a mortuary for further examination.
Investigations have commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death, and the identity of the victim remains unknown. Authorities are requesting assistance from the public, with Muthoni urging, “We are following several leads and urge anyone with information to come forward. The level of brutality in this case is alarming, and we need to bring those responsible to justice.”
To enhance public safety, the OCPD assured the community that police patrols in the area would be increased and encouraged residents to remain vigilant. Additionally, anyone with missing relatives has been urged to visit the local mortuary for identification purposes.
