Kibwana accuses Kalonzo of trying to poach Muungano candidates

Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has accused Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka of trying to poach Muungano candidates.

Kibwana told the press that Kalonzo called the aspirants to Nairobi wooing them with lies.

He threw shade at Kalonzo for what he termed as lack of respect stating that everyone had the democratic right to be in the party of their choice.

“I’m shocked to learn that Kalonzo Musyoka, Wiper leader called Muungano candidates telling them to move to Wiper party. This is a show of disrespect and he should let them be where they want as it is their democratic right,” Governor Kibwana said.

Kibwana alleged that Kalonzo told the Muungano aspirants that they will be duped by the party and should jump ship to Wiper party. According to the Muungano party leader, Kalonzo was using the County Assembly speaker Douglas Mbilu to advance his intention.

He noted that the parties in the Azimio coalition should find ways to work in peace.

“If Azimio wins we all win and that is what matters. Let’s stop these petty sightings,” he added.

Kibwana spoke while commissioning the Mother and child hospital pediatric wing at Wote, Makueni.

It seems the rift between Kalonzo and the three UKambani Governors is getting wider despite them being in Azimio. On Sunday, Kalonzo accused Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu of attempting to sabotage the signing of the agreement between Kalonzo and Raila Odinga so as to lock him out.

This prompted Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua to defend Ngilu asking Kalonzo not to bring petty fights to Azimio.
