Kalonzo and Kibwana Exchange Words Over Makueni Senatorial position

Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has dismissed Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s sentiments during his campaign for ODM leader Raila Odinga in Kathonzweni, Makueni on Sunday. During the tour, Kalonzo called upon Makueni residents to vote for the Wiper party (six-piece).

Kibwana trashed the remarks saying that Kalonzo should drum support for Azimio One Kenya and not his Wiper Party because Azimio has many political parties.

Kalonzo at the meeting also claimed that Kivutha was at the forefront fighting him so that he doesn’t get the top seat in the Azimio One Kenya coalition. Kivutha in response stated that Kalonzo has started despising the Kamba community by dismissing other parties in the region.

“Kalonzo started despising the Kamba people by taking them through different ways before joining Azimio. We joined Azimio long before him. When he tells people that he left Kivutha contesting for president and now I should not contest for the senatorial seat, yet he was also in the race for the presidency; he should know that the Kamba people he had earlier deceived are no longer there,” Kivutha said in a phone call with a Kamba vernacular Television.

Kalonzo drummed support for Daniel Maanzo for the position of Makueni Senator which Kivutha is also eyeing. Kivutha cautioned Kalonzo to stop directing the people on what to do and shun Makueni politics and instead focus on campaigning for Raila Odinga.

“Telling people to vote for Wiper Party only in Makueni while Azimio has more than 26 parties Muungano, NARC and some from Maendeleo Chap Chap being there also. So when Kalonzo goes and starts ignoring our parties yet we are in Azimio together is wrong,” Kivutha stated.

The Governor added that Kalonzo has been oppressing those who are not aligned with his party and fighting the ‘small parties’ instead of focusing on how to bring development to Ukambani people.
