On Wednesday 31st July a memorial service was held for departed Radio queen Mercy Mawia at AIC Milimani in Nairobi.
Leaders, friends, fans, and relatives flocked to the church and some got a chance to mourn her.
Celebrated Journalist Syombua Osiany who was also present advised Mercy’s husband not to forget his wife’s family after the burial. She asked Mwangi not to stop going to Kitui to see them.
“Mercy is my younger sister, we schooled together at Maliku Girls High School and I want to say pole to the family. To my brother James may God give you peace but one thing I can tell you is that never stop going to Kitui, make those trips again and again, and become closer to that family more than ever,” Syombua said.
She advised James that even if he remarries he should let the other woman know that Mercy was in his life to keep her memory living.
“If by God’s grace, you remarry let that person who comes to your life know that you had mercy and please don’t cut your links to these parents,” she added.
Mercy will be buried at her husband’s home in Nyahururu, Nyandarua County on Friday 2nd August.
