DG Mwangangi reads riot act to contractors working in Machakos

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has urged every contractor given work in Machakos county to discharge their duties diligently.

Speaking over the weekend, Mwangangi said the people of Machakos need value for their money by getting good services.

He warned that the county government will not use extra money to redo projects poorly done by contractors.

Also, those doing shoddy work should not expect payment unless you they fix issues arising.

“We won’t waste our taxpayers’ money to pay contractors for poorly done work, or incomplete work, be warned,” said Mwangangi.

The former Yatta MP requested the contractors working on the Mavoloni-Kisiiki road and Matuu-Kyasioni roads to ensure the roads are watered.

This is after locals using the roads last week complained of too much dust affecting their transport and health.

Concerned county staff were also asked to supervise and ensure work given is done the right way as supervision may ensure problems arising are solved in time.

Last month, Governor Wavinya Ndeti issued a warning that contractors doing shoddy jobs will have their contracts terminated.
